Athena & Hermes — Brave Hearts, Big Purrsonalities

Hi, we’re Athena and Hermes.
Yes — like the Greek gods. And no, that’s not an accident.

We were rescued right here in San Francisco… on Athens Street. So obviously, legendary names were required.

We didn’t exactly have a soft beginning. We were born outdoors, where the world is loud and unpredictable for tiny kittens. Luckily, kind humans stepped in before street life shaped us too much. Now we’re safe, warm, and discovering that indoor life comes with ribbon toys, cozy beds, and humans who adore us.

We can be a little shy at first — we like to observe before we fully commit. But give us a little time (and maybe wave a ribbon toy around), and you’ll quickly see who we really are.

I’m Athena.

Brave explorer. First to investigate. Chief inspector of anything new.

New room? I’m in it. Strange sound? I’ll check it out. TV turned on? I am completely captivated. Birds, moving shapes, dramatic music — I watch it like it’s high art.

I love head scratches. Love them. My purr motor switches on instantly and doesn’t power down. I’m extremely friendly once I know you, and I’m not shy about using my voice to chat about my day.

Being held? Not really my thing. I prefer all four paws on solid ground. But I’ll sit near you, follow you from room to room, and keep the purring soundtrack going.

And I’m Hermes.

Toy hunter. Mouse assassin. Ribbon warrior.

Small mouse-shaped toys? I take my hunting very seriously. I play hard, hunt hard, and commit fully. I leap, twist, and tumble like it’s the Olympics.

I may look fearless mid-pounce, but I’m actually a bit of a scaredy cat with new things. I like to see what Athena does first — she’s my brave sister. Once I know it’s safe, I’m all in.

And unlike her? I don’t mind being held at all. Belly rubs are highly encouraged.

Together, we are extremely playful, wildly entertaining, and deeply bonded. We warm up to strangers faster than you’d expect, especially if toys are involved. Ribbon toys are a shared favorite, and at night, we sleep by our foster’s legs — close enough to feel safe, but still independent little legends.

From Athens Street to your living room, our story is just getting started.

Are you ready to welcome two brave little hearts home?

Meet Bahni — A Mini Panther with a Giant Heart

Hi, I’m Bahni — a sleek little house panther with the softest soul.

I’ve been described as an absolute gem, and I try to live up to that every day. I’m super friendly, incredibly cuddly, and truly happiest when I’m near my people.

Every morning, I quietly come to greet my foster when they wake up. I don’t pounce or demand breakfast at sunrise — I simply wait patiently and say good morning once their eyes open. It’s our little ritual, and I take it very seriously.

I settle in easily and make myself right at home. I adore affection, cozy cuddle sessions, and being part of whatever you’re doing. I have a calm, loving energy that makes it easy to imagine me fitting seamlessly into your life.

I’m currently in foster with my sister, Itati, and we’ve become great little playmates. We love to chase toys, wrestle, and keep each other entertained, and we’d truly love to find a home where we can stay together. Could that be with you?

I was rescued in partnership with ACT Spay Neuter Clinic in Stockton.

Bobble

Bobble

Bobble — Brave Heart, Big Purrs, and a Journey from Oman

Hi, I’m Bobble.
I may not be able to see the world—but I feel it deeply, and I love it even more.

My story began far from here, in Muscat, Oman. I showed up alone in a volunteer’s garden, tiny and very sick, with no mom or siblings in sight. I was fighting a bad flu, a severe eye infection, and malnutrition. Things were so dire that my chances didn’t look good—but one kind human believed in me when it mattered most. Because of that, I was given a chance to live.

To save my life, the vets made a hard but loving decision: my eyes were removed to stop the infection. And you know what? I survived. I grew strong. And I proved that blindness would never define what I could do—or who I could be.

Today, I’m a happy, playful, confident boy who traveled all the way from Oman to start fresh. I settled into my foster home right away, and once I learned where everything was, I made myself completely at home. Honestly? Most people forget I’m blind—I certainly do.

I’m full of energy and curiosity. Toys that make noise are my absolute favorite, and I love zooming around the house, exploring every nook and cranny. Sometimes I climb a little higher than I mean to and need help finding my way back down—but that just adds to my charm. I keep life interesting.

When playtime is over, I turn into the biggest cuddle bug. I love flopping right next to you, pressing myself against you, and purring as loudly as I possibly can. Laps are my happy place, and I’ll happily stay there for hours. I’m also your built-in shadow—if you move rooms without me, I’ll let you know I’m coming. I even weave gently around your legs while you walk, both to keep you company and help guide myself through new spaces.

I’m sweet, a little feisty, and very affectionate. I love pets, sometimes give gentle love nibbles, and enjoy playing with cats I trust. Because I can’t see, I can be protective of my space at times and do best with feline friends who are gentle, respectful, and kind. A calm or friendly playful cat who understands boundaries could be a wonderful companion for me.

I use my litter box perfectly, thrive indoors, and do best in a calm, loving home where I get lots of attention, reassurance, and patience while I settle in.

I’ve already come so far—from the brink of losing everything, to traveling across the world, to becoming a joyful, resilient little soul. Now all I need is my person. Someone who sees me not for what I’ve lost—but for everything I am.

If you’re looking for a cat who will love you fiercely, follow you everywhere, and remind you every day that miracles come in small, purring packages… I might just be your Bobble.

Calypso

Calypso

Calypso (Callie) — Gentle Soul, Loyal Friend, Love That Grows

Hi, I’m Calypso — but my friends call me Callie. I’m a soft-hearted young lady who was rescued and grew up at Stanislaus Shelter in Modesto, where I spent much of my kittenhood. Because of that, the world (and especially people) is still something I’m learning to trust — but my heart is huge, and my love runs deep once I feel safe.

Animals are my comfort zone. From the moment I arrived at my foster home, I confidently greeted the resident cat and dog with polite head-butts and instant friendship. I truly thrive when I have another friendly, outgoing animal by my side — someone to show me the ropes, invite me to play, and curl up with for naps. I’ll happily pester my furry siblings for cuddles, playtime, and companionship, so I’m looking for a social, energetic cat or dog who enjoys being adored as much as I do.

Humans take me a little longer — but I’m trying. With patience and consistency, I’ve learned that people can be safe too. I started allowing gentle pets in my favorite safe spots (especially my window hammock), and now I even sneak onto the bed at night for quiet snuggles. When you do pet me, I melt instantly — silky-soft fur, loud purrs, and all the love I’ve been saving up.

I’ll need time, calm energy, and understanding to fully trust — but with a patient adopter and a confident furry friend by my side, I blossom more every day. The bond we build won’t be rushed… but it will be deep, meaningful, and incredibly special.

Follow her foster adventures @whiskers_in_waiting on Instagram.

Best fit: A loving home with a friendly, playful cat or dog, and a human who understands that the most rewarding bonds are sometimes the ones you earn.

Gigi — Playful, Curious, and Expressive

Hi, I’m Gigi. I came all the way from Qatar, and I’m a speedy, curious girl with a big personality and a lot to say. I love to explore, chase my toy mice like a pro, and proudly show off my scratching post skills. Wand toys are a favorite too, especially when I get to put my hunting instincts to work.

I’m very expressive and great at communicating what I want (and when I’ve had enough). I enjoy cuddles on my terms and always let you know when it’s time for a break — no biting or scratching, just polite, clear signals. I’m also not shy about being vocal when something catches my interest.

I feel most comfortable when you meet me at my level — sitting on the floor instead of standing tall helps me relax and connect. After making the journey from Qatar, I’m settling into my new place and warming up more and more every day.

I eat and drink well, love to explore, and am endlessly curious about the world around me. With a patient, gentle human who appreciates a cat with personality, communication skills, and playful energy, I’ll be a wonderful companion.

Honey

Honey — Your One and Only Sweetheart

Hi, I’m Honey. And yes… I really am as sweet as my name.

A kind Good Samaritan rescued me in Stockton, and now I’m ready to find the forever home I’ve been dreaming about — one where I can be your one and only. I prefer not to share the spotlight (or your lap!). I promise I’ll give you more than enough love all by myself.

I’m extremely affectionate and happiest when I’m close to my human. I’ll rub against your legs, gently demand pets, and curl up on a warm lap or right beside you. I love to chat too — my quiet little chirps say hello, I missed you, and it’s cuddle time all at once.

When I’m not snuggled up with you, I’ve got a playful side! I’ll zoom around the house with my catnip mice and entertain myself like a pro. I also love high places — the top of the cat tower, a cozy shelf, anywhere I can perch and survey my kingdom.

At the end of the day, I’ll be there to greet you with soft chirps and sweet head butts, just waiting for our nighttime cuddle routine. That’s my favorite part of the day.

If you’re looking for a devoted, affectionate companion who will pour all her love into you — I’m your girl.

Love,
Honey

Itati

Meet Itati — Our Mini Panther with One Perfect White Whisker

Hi, I’m Itati — a sleek little house panther with one very special white whisker that makes me extra unique.

I’m super friendly and love meeting new people. Wand toys are my absolute favorite — I’ll leap and twirl like a tiny acrobat. When I’m not showing off my moves, you’ll find me perched on my cat tower watching birds (best show ever) or curled up for a cozy nap.

I started out as more of a country girl, so the big city sounds — dishwashers, fire trucks, all those apartment noises — felt a little overwhelming at first. But I’ve grown so much! I’m becoming more confident every day and adjusting beautifully to my new surroundings.

I’m curious, sweet, and very affectionate. I love being pet and cuddled, and I have the softest, cutest little meow that I use when I’m about to eat or when I’d love to play. It’s my gentle way of saying, “Hi… I’m ready for attention.”

I’m currently in foster with my sister Bahni, and we’ve become the best little playmates. We chase toys, wrestle, and keep each other entertained throughout the day. We’d truly love to find a home where we can stay together. Could that be with you?

Little John

Little John

Robin Hood & Little John — Double the Love, Double the Loyalty

Hi. We’re Robin Hood and Little John — a legendary duo, if we do say so ourselves. And while history might call me “Little,” let’s just say I am generously sized.

We were rescued in partnership with ACT Spay Neuter Clinic and are now safe with Give Me Shelter Cat Rescue. We were adopted as kittens once before, but life changed for our family. There was a toddler involved, and while we truly like kids (we’ll get to that!), sometimes managing tiny humans and two handsome cats is a lot. So now we’re looking for our next forever home — together, of course.

Because separating us? Absolutely not.

I’m Robin Hood.
I’m the bold one. The leader. The toy hunter. If there’s a feather wand in the house, I will find it. I’ll chase it, leap for it, and sometimes even fetch toys like a very talented (and very handsome) dog. I love to play and will happily initiate a wrestling match with my brother before curling up to groom him like the loyal sidekick I am.

I’m affectionate — very affectionate. I lean into pets. I follow you around. I’ll hop on the bed for snuggles and then settle in at the foot for movie night like I belong there (because I do).

And I’m Little John.
Yes, I’m the bigger one. I currently weigh about 18 pounds — which just means there’s more of me to love. I’m working on slimming down, so I’m on a structured meal plan and can’t be free-fed. I need a family committed to helping me stay on track and reach a healthy weight. Consistency is love, after all.

I may be a little more cautious at first, but once you start petting me? My purr turns on immediately. Loud. Rumbly. Impressive, if I do say so myself. I adore scratches and will happily melt under your hand.

Things We Both Love:

  • Being pet, scratched, and adored

  • Romping and playing together

  • Grooming and snuggling each other

  • Hopping on the bed for cuddles

  • Greeting the kids at the door after school

  • Following our humans around the house

  • Joining movie night (we prefer the cozy foot-of-the-bed seating section)

We truly love children. We come to the door to greet them, follow them around, and even hop into their beds for pets. We’re social, affectionate boys who want to be part of the action — just in a home where everything feels manageable and stable.

What we’re looking for is simple:
A family ready for double the affection, double the purrs, and double the companionship — and one that will help Little John stay healthy while letting Robin Hood keep the toy game strong.

We’ve already proven how deeply we can bond — with each other and with our people.

Now we’re ready for our next great adventure. And this time, it’s forever.

Marshall

Marshall

Meet Marshall - Mr. Charm, Mr. Mischief, Still Waiting

Over 300 days.

That’s how long I’ve been waiting for someone to see me and say, “He’s the one.”

I’ve watched other cats pack their bags and head home. I’ve kept my chin up. I’ve kept my sparkle. I’ve kept being me — lovable, loyal, just a wee bit naughty. And I can’t help but wonder… how is a charming guy like me still here?

Longest-waiting doesn’t mean least lovable.

Hey there, I’m Marshall—and if you’re looking for a cat with confidence, charisma, and a whole lotta character... congratulations, you just found me.

I was rescued at ACT Spay/Neuter Clinic in Stockton, CA, and from the moment I landed in my foster home, I made myself right at home. No hiding under the bed for this guy—I introduced myself, scoped out the place, and got down to the important stuff: demanding love, investigating cabinets, and finding the best sun spots.

I’m playful, affectionate, smart, and curious about everything. I love to be near my people—greeting them at the door, following them around the house, and settling in next to them for movies or bedtime. I may not always be in your lap, but I’m never far away. I'm what you'd call a “constant companion” cat.

And yes—I'm a talker, but in a charming, conversational way. I like to chirp, meow, and chatter when I’ve got something to say or when I’m feeling particularly happy (which is often). You talk, I’ll answer. It’s part of my charm!

Let’s talk playtime: I’ve got energy, smarts, and I love to play. Wand toys, fetch, cat puzzles—bring it on. I’ve even learned tricks like sitting and jumping through a hoop. I'm basically a cat with a built-in training mode and circus flair.

Now, about my quirks: I’m a spirited guy, and I like things a certain way. I might give you a little bat or nip if I’m feeling overexcited or ignored. It’s not mean—just my way of saying “hey, boundaries, buddy!” I can also get into a bit of mischief if you leave food unattended or houseplants unguarded. So… let’s agree to set some house rules together.

Because of my big purrsonality and strong opinions, I’d do best in a cat-savvy home with humans who appreciate a bold, interactive feline. I’d also really prefer to be your one and only—I’ve got more than enough love and entertainment to go around.

If you're looking for a smart, loyal, hilarious companion who will fill your home with energy, affection, and unforgettable moments—I’m your guy.

Wanna see me in action? Check out my adventures at @sf_fosterfriend  and @dj_capy_. Let’s make some magic together.

Maya

Maya

Maya - Waiting for Her Hero

Hi, I’m Maya.

I’m a gentle soul with a tender heart—and a story that hasn’t always been kind.

I was born on the streets of Bulgaria, where survival isn’t guaranteed, especially for kittens. When I was still very young, I was badly injured—likely in an attack that left me scared, hurt, and unsure if I’d make it. For a time, it wasn’t clear whether I would survive at all. But I did. Through weeks of care, patience, and quiet strength, I held on.

Today, I carry a small scar on my face. It doesn’t hurt anymore—but it tells the story of a world that betrayed me before I had the chance to feel safe.

Because of that injury, I did lose a little bit of my lip on one side. It’s mostly cosmetic, and my rescuers did an incredible job helping me heal. From the front, you can hardly tell—but from the side, you’ll see that my sweet little tongue sometimes peeks out. I can be a tiny bit of a messy eater (I get enthusiastic about dinner), and I just need a gentle wipe with a warm cloth now and then to stay tidy. We’ve added a photo so you can see how it looks—it just makes me extra special.

I’ve even traveled the world looking for a home that will love me exactly as I am—I spent a year in Germany before making my way to San Francisco. My journey has been long, and I’m still waiting for the person who sees past a scar and into my heart.

Because of what I’ve been through, I’m careful with my trust. I’m shy at first, and I need time. But when someone is patient—when they move slowly, speak softly, and show me they’re not going anywhere—I begin to open up. And once I do, something very special happens. I’ll lift my head and look up at you with my soft, beautiful green eyes when you say my name. I’ll lean into your hand for gentle pets. I’ll curl close, soaking up the love I’ve waited so long to feel.

Despite everything I’ve been through, I’m still playful and capable. I chase toys, jump up to high cupboards, and enjoy cozy snuggles once I feel safe. I’d be happiest as a solo cat with a devoted person—or in a calm home with a truly respectful, mellow cat. I’ve been bullied before, so I need a companion who is gentle, non-dominant, and kind—someone who understands boundaries and allows friendships to grow slowly.

From the streets of Bulgaria to Germany, and now to a foster home in San Francisco, my journey has spanned continents. All I’ve ever wanted is what every cat deserves: safety, softness, and someone who won’t look away.

I don’t need perfection.
I don’t need saving—just believing in.

I just need my person.

Could that be you?

Sesame — The Rainy Night Surprise

Hi, I’m Sesame. And one very cold, rainy night in San Francisco… I made a decision.

I sat outside a house and cried and cried. I figured someone inside might hear me. After a while, the door opened and I heard someone call out, “kitty kitty.”

So of course… I ran right in.

My past is a bit of a mystery. I’m such a sweet and affectionate girl that my foster thinks I must have been loved at some point. She waited for someone to come looking for me, but no one ever did. No lost posts, no responses to the “found cat” notices.

So now I’m ready to find the home where I truly belong.

Here are a few things you should know about me:

• I’m very sweet and start purring almost as soon as you pet me.
• I love snuggling next to you—and if you let me, I’ll happily curl up right on your lap.
• Blanket snuggles are one of my specialties. If there’s room under the covers, I’m in.
• I make an excellent work-from-home assistant. I’ll keep you company all day… although my typing skills still need improvement.
• I’m playful too! Balls and toys are fun, but feather wand toys are my absolute favorite.
• I love sitting by the window watching birds and keeping an eye on the neighborhood.
• I keep myself very tidy and groom my beautiful coat often.
• I’m even comfortable around a cat-friendly dog.

Mostly, I just love being near my people. Whether we’re working, relaxing, or watching the world go by outside the window, I’m happiest when I’m with you.

Speed

Speed

Speed — Small Pirate Energy, Gold Medal Zoomies

Speed here. Yes, I only have one eye. No, that does not slow me down. Not even a little.

I was found on the streets with a severe infection in my eye. To save my life and stop the pain, the vet had to remove it. And honestly? Best decision ever. I feel great now — and I zoom just as fast as my name suggests.

I may look like a tiny pirate, but I move through life with total confidence. I chase my wand toy like it’s an Olympic sport. Gold medal in pouncing. Silver in mid-air twists. And absolutely undefeated in toy mouse capture. I adore my little toy mouse — I pounce, grab it, and proudly carry it around like a hard-earned trophy.

When the zoomies hit, I sprint through the house at record-breaking speed, leap onto furniture with precision, and then casually perch by the window to watch the world go by — because every athlete needs recovery time.

Independent? Yes.
Spirited? Absolutely.
Entertaining? Without question.

I’m not overly clingy, but I do enjoy affection — on my terms. When I’m in the mood, I’ll hop into your lap for a cozy nap and soak up the pets. I like following my people from room to room to stay part of the action (purely for supervision purposes). At night, I’m perfectly content sleeping in my own designated spot like the self-sufficient queen I am.

I do have a slightly mischievous streak. I might grab something nearby just to see what happens. And if you catch me? I will absolutely pretend I had nothing to do with it. Who, me? Impossible.

Despite having only one eye, I navigate beautifully and live a completely normal, playful life. I don’t need special treatment — just a loving home that appreciates a confident, spirited, very sweet girl full of playful antics and personality for days.

If you’re looking for a companion who brings gold-medal energy and just the right balance of independence and affection…

I’m Speed. And I’m ready for my podium moment.

Xander — A Big Journey, a Playful Heart

Hi, I’m Xander.
My life started far from here, on the streets of Qatar, where I was just doing my best to survive. I didn’t know what soft blankets, toys, or warm laps were back then—but I always held onto my joyful spirit. That big journey brought me all the way across the world, and now I’m ready for the best part yet: a forever home.

These days, I’m full of energy and curiosity. Playtime is my absolute favorite thing. Feather wands? Yes, please. Small, soft balls? I’m basically a one-cat soccer team. When the zoomies hit, I’ll race around the apartment, climb, explore, and show off my athletic skills.

Sometimes, when I’m extra excited, I might give a gentle playful nibble or a soft bat as I zoom by—just my way of saying this is fun! I’m easily redirected with toys and always mean it in the sweetest way.

When it’s time to slow down, I turn into a total cuddle bug. I love cozy hiding spots and will happily snuggle under a blanket with you, purring away. I adore pets, make biscuits constantly (even while walking around), and my tiny little meow is pretty hard to resist.

I also enjoy watching birds from the window and am fascinated by the TV—though loud noises or sudden movements can still surprise me sometimes. With patience, reassurance, and a calm, loving home, my confidence grows more every day.

I’ve already traveled so far—from the streets of Qatar to a life filled with comfort, play, and love. Now I’m ready for my next chapter. If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate companion who will follow you from room to room and curl up beside you when the day is done, I just might be your Xander.
